đ Digital vs. Printed Invitations: How to Choose Whatâs Right for Your Event
Share

Planning a party? One of the first decisions you'll need to make is how you want to invite your guestsâdigitally or with printed invitations. Both have their perks and pitfalls, and Iâve personally used both depending on the occasion.
Letâs break it down in a real-world, not-too-fussy way so you can make the best call for your party.
Â
đ My Honest Take
I use both printed and digital invitations, depending on the event, the timing, and the budget. If I have the time and budget for it, I love printed invitations. There's just something about getting a beautiful card in the mail that feels a little more formal, special, and keepsake-worthy.
That said, printed invitations require some serious legwork. You have to collect addresses, order prints, wait for shipping, stuff envelopes, add stamps, and trust the USPS (who, bless them, are doing the most under impossible pressure). And even thenâyou have to hope people check their mail and RSVP. It's a lot of moving parts.
For more casual eventsâor when Iâm short on timeâI go digital. I usually text out the invite and also create a Facebook event page. That way, I can post updates, share Amazon wishlists, and send reminders. Itâs streamlined and effective, even if it lacks a bit of charm.
đŹ Printed Invitations
Perfect for weddings, showers, or anything a bit more formal.

-
No guarantees it arrives or gets opened in time

đą Digital Invitations

-
Is this something I want guests to keep?
It really comes down to you. Your timeline. Your budget. Your party goals. And letâs be honestâhow much energy youâve got in the tank.
For Riley Jeanâs birthday, I did both: printed invitations for family keepsakes and a digital backup to make sure everyone saw it. Because life happens. And I like to cover my bases.
