Mrs Rachel Inspired 2nd Birthday
When my best friend started planning her little girl, Margot’s second birthday, I was over the moon that she invited me to help. We knew the theme needed to feel bright, sweet, playful, and full of toddler magic (Just like our sweet Margot)
Margot is my daughters best friend. Our kids absolutely adore Ms. Rachel, and honestly, I do too. She has been such an amazing role model for little ones, and I truly feel like she has taught my daughter so much. So for Margot’s second birthday, we created our own spin on a Ms. Rachel inspired birthday party theme, full of pink, blue, rainbows, daisies, and cheerful little details. The experience definetly created memories for me, that I will never forget.
I taught my best friend, Morgan, how to create a balloon arch. I made cupcakes. I was introduced to the baker that eventually created Riley's (my daughter) cake for her 2nd birthday. I got to help set up, and watch all my creations come alive for my best friends girl. Hosting fills my cup, but helping friends in this way, with what I do best fills my whole pitcher. I look back on the pictures and it truly warms my heart. The end result was one of the cutest birthday parties, and I’m still so proud of how it all came together.
The Sweetest Part: Celebrating This Season of Motherhood Together
Before I dive in deeper into this them, I have to say that one of the most unexpected gifts of this season of life has been the friend group I’ve created. I somehow ended up surrounded by the absolute best group of women, and the sweetest part is that so many of us have little girls right around the same age.
This last year has been full of second birthdays, and one of my favorite things has been helping bring all of their party ideas to life. Every mom has planned her party a little differently. Different themes, different budgets, different spaces, different timelines, different visions — and somehow, every single one has turned out perfect in its own way.
That has honestly been one of the biggest reminders for me. A beautiful birthday party does not have to look one specific way. Some are backyard parties. Some are simple and sweet. Some are full of custom details. Some are pulled together in a week. Some are planned for months. But when they are created with love, they always feel special.
Getting to help set up these parties, create the signs and printables, watch our girls run around together, and see each mom’s personality show up in the details has meant so much to me. This past year of birthdays has created a lifetime of memories, and I don’t take that for granted.
Margot’s party was one of those days that reminded me how lucky I am to be surrounded by such amazing women, sweet little girls, and a community that shows up for each other in the most fun and meaningful ways.
A Pink, Blue, Rainbow & Daisy Party Theme
For Margot’s second birthday, we leaned heavily into a soft pink and blue color palette with rainbows and daisies everywhere. It felt playful and toddler-friendly, but still really pretty and polished. We really wanted the Mrs Rachel Theme to shine through.
The goal was to make the party feel fun for the kids, easy for the adults to enjoy, and special enough to celebrate such a sweet milestone. Two is such a fun age because little ones are starting to recognize songs, colors, favorite shows, and familiar themes, so this party style felt like the perfect fit.
We used bright, happy details throughout the party space, from the birthday invitation and welcome sign to the cake, cupcake toppers, drink station sign, and I even let the borrow my backyard bounce house.

The Custom Birthday Invitation
The invitation set the tone for the whole party. I created a pink and blue Ms. Rachel inspired birthday invitation with sweet rainbow and daisy details to match the rest of the decor and of course the unmistakable overalls.
It was colorful, cheerful, and made the whole theme feel pulled together before guests even arrived.

The Matching Welcome Sign
One of my favorite printable pieces from the party was the matching welcome sign. A welcome sign is one of those details that instantly makes a party feel more intentional, especially when guests are walking into a backyard setup.
For Margot’s party, the welcome sign matched the invitation and carried the same pink, blue, rainbow, and daisy theme. It made the entrance feel bright and fun, and it was such a cute photo moment.

The “Can You Say Margot-Rita?!” Sign
This was hands-down one of my favorite custom pieces from the whole party.
Since the birthday girl’s name is Margot, we created a custom sign for the adult drink station that said:
“Can you say Margot-Rita?!”
It was such a fun play on the Ms. Rachel theme, Margot’s name, and the margarita bar we had set up for the adults. I love when a kids’ birthday party has thoughtful little details for the grown-ups too, and this one got so many laughs. I remember jokingly telling Morgan when we started planning that we could NOT miss the oppurtunity here.

The Birthday Cake
The cake was absolutely adorable. It was pink and designed to look like it had little overalls on it, which was such a cute nod to the theme without making everything feel too literal.
It had daisy details, a bright number two, and a custom topper that tied into the rest of the party. Between the cake, cupcakes, toppers, and signage, the whole dessert table felt coordinated and photo-ready.
I have to brag on my Bestie. She found this ADORABLE cake topper on Etsy. I couldn't get over how perfect it was. What a good party decoration find!
Backyard Bounce House Fun
The party was hosted in the backyard, and the bounce house was a huge hit with the kids. For those of you have followed along, I bought this thing for Rileys First birthday, and boy did I get a TON of use out of it. It followed from Birthday to Birthday last year!
For a second birthday party, I love having one big activity that keeps the kids entertained without needing a packed schedule. The bounce house gave them a place to run, jump, laugh, and burn off energy while the adults got to relax and enjoy the party too.
It made the whole afternoon feel casual, fun, and easy, which is exactly what a toddler birthday party should be.

Easy Party Food for a Toddler Birthday
For the food, we kept things simple and kid-friendly with easy grab-and-go options. There were sandwiches, fruit, veggies, pretzels, dips, and colorful party utensils that matched the bright, playful feel of the day.
This is my favorite kind of toddler birthday party food setup because it looks cute, but it’s still realistic. Nobody wants to spend the whole party fussing over food when the kids are running around and having fun.
